A LORRY driver is due in court accused of causing the death of a man by careless driving on the M27.

Richard Bingham, 53, of Thames Close, Warminster, Wiltshire, was due to appear at Fareham Magistrates’ Court today.

He is accused of causing the death of Kevin Burton, 45, from Southampton, after a crash on the eastbound carriageway between his DAF lorry and trailer and Mr Burton’s Ford Focus at junction nine at Whiteley.

The crash happened on March 26. Bingham faces a count of causing death by driving without due care and attention.

Mr Burton’s widow paid tribute to him after the crash describing him as a ‘wonderful and dedicated dad’ to their two children.

At the time police appealed for anyone with video on dashcams to come forward.
