Police want to trace owners of items stolen in Gosport and Fareham burglaries

A MAN who admitted harassing a woman has been given a restraining order.

Bertram Johns, of Baffins Road, Portsmouth, harassed the woman in a six-day period by using threatening behaviour and sending threatening and abusive text messages.

The 51-year-old was told to take part in a Building Better Relationships Programme for 32 sessions.

He was put under supervision for two years.

Johns was given a five-year restraining order banning him from contacting the victim or entering Clarence Road in Southsea.

He was also ordered to pay £60 to a fund for victims of crime and £300 costs by magistrates.

Portsmouth magistrates made no order for compensation.
