A MAN has admitted breaking into a house in Southsea.

Liam McGiffen, of Toronto Road, Portsmouth, stole an iPhone, a purse and cigarettes during the raid in Henley Road, Southsea, on June 1.

The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge of burglary when he appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court yesterday.

Howard Barrington-Clark, defending, asked the judge to adjourn the case to allow the probation service to carry out a pre-sentence report on McGiffen.

He was remanded in custody to be sentenced in July.
