POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 20-year-old man was attacked by four teenagers in Paulsgrove, Portsmouth.

The victim was walking near shops along Allaway Avenue at 7.15pm on Wednesday when he was assaulted.

The man was taken to hospital and treated for bruising to his face. He was discharged later that day.

The suspects were described as being white, 5ft 5ins tall and were approximately 15 to 17 years old.

They were all wearing dark clothing and two of the teenagers were wearing hooded jackets.

Any witnesses or anyone with information about the unprovoked attack are asked to call police on 101.
