A MAN has been bitten and punched at a pub.

Hampshire police said a 36-year-old man from Wickham reported being assaulted.

‘He reported he was bitten and punched requiring hospital treatment,’ a spokesman said.

It happened at around 10.30pm last night at Slug and Lettuce in West Street, Fareham.

Detectives investigating the alleged assault have made two arrests:

• A 21-year-old man from Havant was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage.

• A 25-year-old man from Southsea was arrested on suspicion of assault.

Both men are now helping police with their inquiries, the spokesman added.
