A MAN has been charged with perverting the course of justice by detectives investigating the murder of Christopher Butler in Southsea.

Neal Stacey was charged by police late last night.

The 48-year-old, of Waverley Road, Southsea, was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

A 41-year-old man from Southsea, arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday, January 7, has been released on police bail.

The body of Christopher Butler, 27, was found at an address in Waverley Road, Southsea, at 12.25am on New Year’s Day.

Brendon Michael Willis, 32, of no fixed abode, was charged with murder earlier this week.
