POLICE have charged a man following a crash in which two women were seriously hurt.

Matt Styler, 35, of Keith Close, Gosport, is accused of perverting the course of justice, two counts of grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, driving above the alcohol limit and failing to stop at the scene.

The crash happened at about 11.15pm on July 2 when two women crossing Stoke Road in Gosport were hit by a blue Vauxhall Astra.

A 20-year-old Fareham woman, suffered what were initially said to be life threatening injuries. A 19-year-old Gosport woman suffered serious injuries.

Styler was bailed to appear before Fareham magistrates in December. A 31-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of failing to stop was released with no further action.
