A MAN has been charged with attempted robbery after Post Office staff were threatened with a handgun.

Police were called to Hunston near Chichester on Thursday at around 2pm, when a man entered the Post Office and threatened staff with a firearm but left empty-handed.

A suspect was quickly arrested and a silver handgun was found nearby.

Lee Hunt, 31, of Bognor Regis, was also charged with possession of a firearm with intent and possession of a bladed article. He was remanded in police custody. Anyone with information can call Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999.
