A MAN has been convicted of driving while unfit through drugs.

Abdul Basit had denied committing the offence while driving a Mercedes in Titchfield Road, Stubbington, on March 28. But he was found guilty by Fareham magistrates.

The 36-year-old, of Derby Road, Southampton, admitted a charge of having class B drug cannabis on him in the street on the same day.

He was fined £200 and told to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims and £200 in court costs.

An order was made for the drugs to be forfeited and destroyed.
