A MAN in his 20s has died after falling off the roof of a Southsea apartment building in the early hours of today.

Police, the ambulance service and a crew from Southsea fire station were called to the Royal Beach Hotel at 3.30am.

It is understood the man, who had been a guest at the hotel, fell from the roof of a neighbouring property.

A spokeswoman for the South Central Ambulance Service said: ‘We were called at 3.48am to a medical emergency in St Helen’s Parade, Southsea.

‘Despite attempts by the ambulance crew the patient passed away at the scene.’

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘A full police investigation into the incident is ongoing.’
