Man exposes himself to girls walking home from Gosport school

A MAN has reached out to a girl from behind a fence after indecently exposing himself three times this month.

The man was last spotted on Monday at 3.45pm in Station Road, Gosport, when witnesses said they saw him reach out to the young girl.

Earlier that day he had exposed himself to two teenage girls, aged 14 and 15 as they walked home from school.

The first incident dates back to Monday, January 7 between 2.30pm and 4pm when the man was seen in a wooded area behind a large metal fence.

Police said the incident this week was reported to them on Tuesday.

The man is described as white, with dark hair, unshaven with a short or stubbly beard, and aged between 20 to 40-years-old of average height.

Police and PCSOs from a Safer Neighbourhoods team have visited schools and put on extra patrols in the area to reassure people.

Fareham and Gosport District Commander Chief Inspector Darren O’Callaghan said: ‘Police are in the early stages of enquiries, and there is no confirmed link between these reports of indecent exposure and any other incidents although those in the area of Station Road are clearly being considered together.

‘While the exact circumstances are investigated, police are asking the public to remain alert, but not alarmed; advising parents and schools to remind their children of the stranger danger message, and to report any incidents to us as soon as possible.’

He added that police believe these incidents are not connected to two incidents, themselves not linked earlier this month in Lanyard Drive and Conifer Grove.

Call police on 101 with information.
