A MAN was knocked unconscious after being set upon by a gang.

The 28-year-old victim was in Queen’s Crescent, Southsea when he was attacked by four men. He suffered cuts and bruises and was knocked out.

Nothing was reported stolen in the attack, which happened between 2.20am and 2.40am on October 2. Police have only just released details of the assault.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Amanda Waite of Portsmouth CID said: ‘This was an unprovoked attack on a man walking home on his own.

‘We are particularly concerned because four people appear to have decided to target one man at once. If anyone saw or heard anything then I would urge them to come forward.’

The main attacker was white, aged in his 20s, 6ft 1in tall, and of a skinny build. He wore a white and red checked shirt and white trainers.
