A MAN has been ordered to do unpaid work for assaulting a woman.

Daniel Roberts, 28, of Station Road, Gosport, admitted assault by beating and criminal damage on December 4 last year. He was given a community order with 90 hours unpaid work by Portsmouth magistrates.

He must pay £65 compensation for damaging a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone.

Roberts must also pay a £60 victim surcharge and £250 prosecution costs.
