COAT thief Nigel Mazs has been fined by magistrates in Portsmouth

The 48-year-old, from Wingfield Street, Buckland, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to stealing four coats worth £276.50 from a Marks & Spencer store in Portsmouth.

He was fined £90. Magistrates ordered him to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims.

Mazs admitted committing the offence while subject to a 12-month conditional discharge for another offence of theft.

But no action was taken on the breach.
