THE BODY of a man believed to be in his thirties was found this morning on a footpath alongside a public school in Petersfield.

The body was found by a member of the public at 6.30am today on a footpath that runs beside Rams Hill road between the main and smaller entrances to the prestigious Churcher’s College.

The raised path, on the right as drivers go up Rams Hill, is above the road and hidden from houses on the other side of the road by a hedge.

Windowless school outbuildings back onto the path, which police have closed to pedestrians while scene of crime officers examine it.

The man’s death is not believed to be suspicious.=

Police cordoned off the path, which is on a hill, while they carried out initial investigations but it was lifted by 10.30am.
