AN 18-YEAR-OLD woman was sexually assaulted as she walked towards a train station.

The victim was walking along the cycle path from a Waitrose supermarket to Chichester railway station, when she was approached by a man who asked her for the time.

As she looked at her watch the man assaulted her before running off.

The incident happened at 12.30pm on Sunday, October 21.

Police have only just released details and are now appealing for witnesses.

The suspect is 6ft 2in, large and slightly overweight, with short dark brown hair with a receding hairline.

Police say he was wearing jeans, a light blue T-shirt and possibly a denim jacket as well.

He was possibly eastern European.

PC Ben Hitchman said: ‘The victim was not hurt but shaken by the incident.’

Anyone with information or may have witnessed the sexual assault should ring Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 0862 of October 21.
