POLICE are hunting for a robber after a woman had her handbag grabbed as she walked in Southsea.

It happened at around 8.30pm on Thursday in St Andrew’s Road.

As the woman approached the junction with St Ursula Grove, she saw a man leaning against a wall.

He then pushed her from behind, grabbed her bag, and fled along St Andrew’s Road.

Police said the 29-year-old victim was not injured in the robbery.

She has described the man as black, of a medium build, wearing a black puffa jacket with the hood up.

Detective Constable Julia Hopes said: ‘A small, grey hatchback car was seen to drive off from St Ursula Grove towards St Andrew’s Road at the time of this incident.

‘Did you see this car? Or did you see the robbery?

‘Please get in touch with 
us if you have any information.’
