A MAN robbed two elderly men by pretending to be from a water company.

On Monday at around 2pm, a man tricked his way into two homes in Buddens Road, Wickham.

He told his victims, aged in their late 70s and early 80s, that the drains were faulty and their water may be contaminated.

Once inside the homes, he distracted them by asking them to empty their under-sink cupboards and stole money from one of the addresses.

Police are appealing for witnesses. The man is described as white, in his 50s, 5ft 10 tall, with a fat face and wearing a black anorak, black jeans and a woolly hat.

Anyone with information should call PC Cassandra Hakin at Winchester police station on 101.
