POLICE are hunting a man in connection with alleged sex assaults on three brothers in the late 1970s.

Kevin Collins worked as an odd job man and gardener in East and West Witterings, West Sussex. The allegations relate to three boys aged between five and eight at the time of the alleged incidents.

Detective Constable Mark Burgess, from Chichester police, said: ‘He is described as being at the time in his 40s, with fuzzy hair, skinny with a gaunt face, and 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in. Mr Collins was always scruffy and had really dark tanned skin as if he was a frequent sunbather. We believe that he may have come from Kent originally, possibly the Gravesend and North Kent area.

‘Although these allegations relate to more than 30 years ago, they have only recently been reported to us.

‘Regardless of the time that has gone by we will always treat such allegations seriously, and we will ensure people reporting are also referred to independent counselling and welfare support if needed.’
