MASKED raiders stole more jewellery worth more than £4,500 in a robbery.

Three men – all wearing hooded tops with the hoods up, white cotton gloves and white dusk masks – hit H&T Pawnbrokers in High Street, Cosham.

Two of the robbers jumped over the counter in front of two terrified women staff members.

The third man held the door closed while they swiped jewellery from behind the counter and the store’s front window display.

A few minutes later the trio ran off.

A staff member at nearby Costs Coffee spotted the robbers and chased them into Pervin Road.

They were last seen turning right into an alleyway at the top of the road before disappearing shortly after the robbery took place at 3.50pm on Wednesday.

The two women workers were shaken by their ordeal but unhurt.

The robbers fled with jewellery worth about £4,500.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: ‘The area would have been extremely busy around the time of the incident and police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident or has any information about the identity of the offenders to make contact.’
