A SERIAL thief caught stealing from three shops on the same day has been jailed for 90 days.

Robert Gillen pleaded guilty at Portsmouth Magsitrates’ Court to stealing meat worth £59.13 from Tesco Express in Goldsmith Avenue, Southsea.

He admitted stealing £24.09 of meat from the Co-op in Winter Road, Southsea.

Gillen, of Bonchurch Road, Milton, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to stealing meat worth £62.55 from the Co-op in Eastney Road, Southsea. All three thefts were committed on December 16.

The 26-year-old admitted committing the crimes while subject to a six-month conditional discharge imposed only three data earlier on December 13.
