POLICE are on the hunt for two men who attempted to steal a donations box from a church.

The would-be thieves entered the foyer of St George’s Church, in St George’s Walk, Waterlooville, and damaged the area where they believed the box was stored.

The suspects left the church empty-handed after they were caught by a warden. The incident happened at 6.40pm on Saturday. The first suspect was white, in his 40s and 5ft 8in. The other was slim with greasy black hair.
