A possible sighting of Mr Gates on Sunday on the Great Glen Way, near the Abriachan woodlands car park is being investigated.

A jacket found on March 15 has been identified as his.

His sister Alison Ware, 37, said: ‘I just hope he turns up. He’s such a routine guy.

‘We’re not really sure what’s happened.

‘I’m very worried about him.’

Police Scotland revealed mountain rescue teams were searching for accountant Mr Gates in Drumnadrochit.

Alison added she appreciates the kind-hearted messages of support she has received from people in Aviemore, where Mr Gates was.

She said: ‘They’ve been wonderful people, really nice.

‘It’s been really good to hear their nice words.’
