POLICE believe a prisoner on the run from jail could be in Hampshire.

The public are warned not to approach Jamie Frater, pictured, if they spot him.

The 38-year-old, who is a detainee at Blantyre House open prison on Goudhurst, Kent, has been at large since Monday when he failed to return from working in the community.

Frater has links to Hampshire and Dorset. Kent Police are working with officers in this area to track him down.

A Kent Police spokesman said: ‘Members of the public in Dorset and Hampshire are also asked to be vigilant and contact their police forces if they see a man fitting his description.’

He is described by police as white, 5ft 8in and slim with short blond receding hair.

Anyone who spots Frater or has any information about his whereabouts is asked to dial 999.
