POLICE are appealing for more information as an investigation continues into an assault on an elderly man in Portsmouth.

The 79-year-old from Southsea was changing buses at the junction of Station Street and Edinburgh Road at around 10.30pm on Thursday, May 2.

He was punched in the face by a man he didn’t know. He received a split top lip, and bruises to his bottom lip and chin.

The suspect was described as white, aged in his mid to late 20s, of a slim build, 5ft 10ins tall and he was wearing dark clothing. Call police on 101.
