THE son of a missing lecturer has given more details about his father in the hope it will help find him.

Guy Barrett, 38, said he last saw his father James David Barrett, better known as David, three weeks ago before going on holiday.

The 66-year-old has Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes and was last seen leaving his home in Simpson Road, Stamshaw, last Friday at 5.15pm.

Guy said: ‘I’m absolutely terrified. I have lunch with him on Fridays and he was in good spirits the last time I was with him.

‘Sometimes when he wanders off he ends up being back at his old address in Fratton, but when I drove around the area this time he wasn’t there.

‘He moved to Portsmouth in his 20s and worked at the University of Portsmouth as a lecturer for maths and statistics until he retired.’

Mr Barrett is 5ft 8in, very slim and has short grey hair.

He was last seen wearing a dark jumper, a shirt underneath, black jeans and Dr Martens boots.
