SENTIMENTAL items of jewellery were stolen by a burglar while the home-owner was away on holiday.

The house in Orchard Way, Bognor, was raided between 2pm last Wednesday and 1.30pm last Thursday.

Among the jewellery taken was a yellow 18-carat gold pendant with a ruby stone and a heart-shaped solid pendant with a solitaire diamond at the top and a sapphire.

Other items stolen include a Turkish protective eye earring and necklace set, dangly star earrings, a plain wedding band, a signet ring with the initials DR and a pair of Japanese stud earrings with Japanese writing.
