ROBBERS stole hundreds of pounds from a man they mugged on a footpath.

A 20-year-old man was attacked as he walked along the footpath between Redlands Lane and Highfield Avenue in Fareham.

The victim was approached by two men from nearby bushes who punched him in the face and demanded his mobile phone and wallet. He handed over his phone and the suspects then searched him, taking an envelope with £540 in cash.

The attack took place between 7.25pm and 7.40pm last Thursday.

Detective Constable Lisa Bailey said: ‘We are seeking witnesses who may have seen two men matching the descriptions in the area at the time.’

Both attackers are described as white and about 6ft.

One is of skinny build and 25 to 30 years old with a very pale complexion. He was wearing a dark blue or black zip up hooded top with the hood up and blue trousers.

The other was 20 to 25 years old, of average build and wore a black or dark coloured hooded top.
