A FIFTH man arrested on suspicion of murdering teenager Damien Nettles almost 15 years ago has been rebailed by police.

The 39-year-old, from Gravesend, Kent, was released on Thursday.

It comes after a 48-year-old Sandown man, a 44-year-old man from Cowes, a 50-year-old Newport man and a 37-year-old man from Ryde – all arrested on suspicion of killing the 16-year-old - were also rebailed.

Damien disappeared following a night out in West Cowes on the Isle of Wight in November 1996.

Last month police launched a new search to find his body in marshland next to the Newport to Cowes cycleway and the Stag Lane footpath.
