A BANNER advertising a huge youth festival has been stolen.

East Hampshire District Council put up the banner for Butserfest 2012 at the Catherington Lane crossroads in Horndean.

But the banner advertising the drug and alcohol-free festival has been taken down.

Festival organiser Lucy Soal said: ‘We’re not angry with whoever took the banner, we’re just hoping for its safe return.

‘It may be an enthusiastic supporter of the festival who wanted the banner for their Butserfest memorabilia collection, but it’s an important time for the festival and we’re missing out on people seeing it in the area.

‘The banner can be returned to the council offices at Penns Place, Petersfield, with no questions asked.

‘We just want to make sure local people have a chance to find out about the festival.’

The festival takes place at the base of Butser Hill on Saturday, September 15 and will see a range of up-and-coming bands perform. Tickets are available at butserfest.co.uk/tickets.
