POLICE and ambulance services have not been able to say why emergency service vehicles were seen in a car park with blue lights on.

Reports came in of a Hampshire Constabulary police van and cars, along with an ambulance, with lights on at the car park next to the Hydropool UK shop, in London Road, Hilsea.

It was at about 8.50am yesterday.

However neither the police nor South Central Ambulance Service was able to find incidents that would have led to an emergency service response.

Both the hydropool store and the Shell garage confirmed they had seen emergency services there.

A spokesman for the police said that the vehicles may have been on general patrol or looking into an older case.
