THE name of the man whose body was found washed up on a beach on Christmas Eve has been released.

David Ellett, 22, of Clarendon Crescent, Warsash, was found at Stokes Bay in Gosport on Monday at 9.20am.

Police were called to the beach near Bayside Cabin on Monday and said the death is not being treated as suspicious.

The office of HM Coroner for Portsmouth and South East Hampshire confirmed an investigation is ongoing.

Coroner’s officer Dave Gregory said: ‘We have opened and adjourned an inquest into the death.’
