A NEW video showing British Islamic State (Isil) hostage John Cantlie has been released.

The 43-year-old photojournalist is being held captive by Isil extremists and the latest video is the sixth in a series called Lend Me Your Ears.

In the nine-minute film, Mr Cantlie is dressed in an orange jumpsuit and sits behind a desk reading from a script.

A spokesman from the Foreign Office said it is aware of the film and it will be analysing the footage.

Mr Cantlie is the son of Paul Cantlie, 80, from Droxford, who died last month from complications relating to pneumonia, just two weeks after he recorded a video appeal asking for his son to be released.
