A NEW police chief inspector has taken up the helm in Chichester.

Justin Burtenshaw, the new district commander, moves to Chichester from Brighton where he has been for his 16-year career at Sussex Police. Amongst his achievements is a scheme to tackle binge drinking and alcohol-related crime.

The dad-of-one said: ‘Becoming district commander for Chichester will be both challenging and exciting for me. I’ve inherited an amazing team of officers and staff with a strong sense of identity and team spirit.’

He replaces Tanya Jones, who takes on her new role of Detective Chief Inspector of Crime Manager.
