TWO men have been charged following two robberies in Portsmouth.

Lee Benneyworth, 28, of Leominster Road, and Scott Jeffree, 33, of First Avenue, Cosham, have been charged with two counts of robbery.

Both men appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court and have been remanded in custody pending.

The charges relate to two robberies.

One took place at H&T Pawnbrokers, in High Street, Cosham on September 14.

The other happened at Goulds Jewellers, in Highland Road, Southsea on September 22.

Detective Constable Dave Anderson is still appealing for information about both incidents.

He said: ‘The investigation is still ongoing and I would ask anyone with any information to come forward.

‘A man and woman were seen in H&T Pawnbrokers just before the incident on September 14.

‘I would urge them to come forward as they may be able to help our inquiry.’

Both men were also charged with a number of burglary and theft offences, relating to garage break-ins which took place in November 2010.
