POLICE in Portsmouth have made two arrests following a robbery and an attempted robbery.

The first took place at around 10.30pm on Wednesday October 5 when a 14-year-old boy was walking in Lords Court, in Landport.

He was approached by a group of men who grabbed him and rifled through his pockets and took a number of items.

The second robbery happened on the same night just before midnight on a pathway near to Holbrook Road, when an attempt was made to rob a 47-year-old man by a group of men.

Detective Constable Verity Lamb of Fratton CID said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses in relation to two incidents which appear to be linked.

‘Were you in these areas around the time of these incidents? Did you see anyone hanging around or acting suspiciously?’
