Senior police officer hits out at ‘irresponsible’ drivers after 320 thefts from vehicles

A WOMAN tricked her way into a pensioner’s home and distracted her so that a man could steal from her.

The conwoman called at the 89-year-old’s flat at Rose Tower in Clarence Parade, Southsea, claiming to need to check for a water leak.

While she distracted the victim a man went into the flat and stole two purses, between 6.15pm and 6.30pm on Tuesday, September 18.

He is described as white, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in, aged in his 30s or 40s and of stocky build.

He had short grey, thinning hair and was wearing a navy or black jacket.

The woman is described as white, in her mid 20s, of slim build with straight shoulder length hair with a fringe to the side. She was wearing jeans.
