A PEDESTRIAN has died after being hit by a van.

The 54-year-old man was involved in a collision with a Ford van on the Chichester bypass between Whyke roundabout and the Stockbridge roundabout.

He was taken by ambulance to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester with serious injuries following the crash, which happened at about 4.50pm on Friday, but later died.

The driver of the van, a 34-year-old man, was unhurt.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Bantam.
