POLICE are trying to trace a driver after he drove onto a pavement and hit a man.

The black BMW 3 series car came out of St Edward’s Road in Gosport and turned into Stoke Road.

It was then driven onto the pavement in front of the Motor World shop where it hit a 30-year-old man, who was not injured.

A man then got into the car and it was driven off towards the town centre at about 7pm on Tuesday. The driver was white and in his 40s.

Sergeant Lesley Meenaghan said: ‘The irresponsible actions of the driver could have easily injured a member of the community.’

Anyone with information can call police on 101.
