COUNTER-FRAUD police and bank staff are running a community event to help people avoid being tricked.

Hampshire Constabulary and Barclays Bank will be at the Spring Arts and Heritage Centre, in East Street, Havant, today between midday and 2pm.

It is the first event of its kind to be put on in the town.

The event will be run by experienced bank staff, a specialist crime prevention adviser from the force and the neighbourhood policing team.

Anyone is welcome to attend the interactive event.

People will be advised on how to recognise different fraud situations, stay safe online, protect personal and security information and will get help on what to do if they fall victim to fraud.
