POSTERS that were criticised for suggesting victims were to blame for rape have been scrapped.

Sussex Police said it wanted to raise awareness that vulnerable people could be targeted.

The poster showed two women taking a selfie, with the caption: ‘Which one of your mates is most vulnerable on a night out? The one you leave behind.’

Police officials apologised and said no offence was intended.
