Police appeal over boat engine thefts

Thieves smash into vehicles parked at leisure centres

THIEVES made off with more than £60,000 worth of boat engines.

The Yamaha engines were stolen from a large Techno Marine P10 Rib docked at Wilson’s Boat Yard, in Marine Walk, Hayling Island.

The cables to the engine had been cut and the bolts which hold the brackets for the engines had been undone.

They are valued at £32,000 each.

It took place between 7.30pm on Monday, September 29 and 6am on Wednesday, October 1.

PC Rachel Williams, said: ‘The two engines weigh in excess of 250 kilos each.

‘Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area?

‘Do you have any information that could help our inquiry? I would urge anyone with information to get in touch as soon as possible.’
