THIS CCTV image has been released in a bid to trace a man wanted for stealing a handbag from a woman.

The 70-year-old victim was in the Lord Arthur Lee pub in West Street, Fareham, when her bag was snatched.

But the suspect was caught on CCTV following the theft at about 5.50pm on January 17.

Police have now released this image in the hope of bringing him to justice.

PC Jason Pearce said: ‘This is a despicable crime.

‘The offender has targeted a 70-year-old woman who was deeply upset and affected by the incident.

‘If you recognise him, please come forward by calling Fareham police station.’

The suspect was white, with crooked teeth and mousey brown hair and was aged between 20 and 30. He wore dark blue jeans and trainers. Call PC Pearce on 101 or 0845 0454545 or the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555111.
