MOTORCYCLISTS are urged to take part in a ‘Bikesafe’ scheme to help them ride more safely.

Participants are given practical advice by trained police riders before having a full on-road assessment by riders from Sussex Police, East and West Sussex Fire & Rescue Services and South East Coast Ambulance Service. Sergeant Paul Masterson of Sussex Roads Policing Unit said: ‘Although there is a relatively small percentage of motorcycles on our roads, the number of riders killed or seriously injured is vastly disproportionate to other road users.

‘Whilst many collisions are not all down to the rider, there is still much that motorcyclists can do to make themselves less vulnerable.’

Courses start on March 25. Call 08444 151206 or visit bikesafe.co.uk
