A MAN has been charged with the murder of 27-year-old Christopher Butler.

Mr Butler was found dead in Waverley Road, Southsea, at 12.35am on New Year’s Day.

Brendon Michael Willis, 32, of no fixed address, was arrested earlier this week by officers investigating the death. He has now been charged with murder, Hampshire police said.

Willis will appear before Portsmouth magistrates tomorrow morning.

Two other men, aged 29 and 48, from Southsea, have today been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
