POLICE found £1,600 worth of heroin on a man who had come to Portsmouth to sell drugs.

Lawrence McMullen had travelled down from Liverpool.

The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to possession of a class A drug with intent to supply when he appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court yesterday. The court heard McMullen, of Hartington Road, Liverpool, was going to sell the drugs in Portsmouth and on Hayling Island.

Judge Ian Pearson remanded him in custody to be sentenced on July 20.
