Police give winter advice to residents after more than 30 outbuildings burgled in East Hampshire

POLICE are advising residents to secure their belongings after dozens of outbuildings have been burgled.

More than 30 reports of ‘non-dwelling’ burglaries have been reported in the East Hampshire district over the last fortnight.

Hampshire Constabulary’s tips include to ‘keep the boundaries of your property well-maintained and secure to keep out unwanted visitors’.

Police have also advised people to secure their vehicles and plant equipment as daylight hours grow shorter in the winter.

One of the 31 reported crimes includes the theft of a lawnmower after burglars forced their way in to a garage in Church Road, Petersfield.

The incident happened between 9pm on October 16 and 7am on October 17. Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting 44160391690.
