POLICE are hunting the driver of a van which slammed into a parked car in Gosport, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.

A small blue van crashed into a parked Ford Transit in Morris Close, at the junction with Wych Lane, at 8.40am on Thursday.

Officers say that a considerable amount of damage was caused to the Ford Transit before the blue van was seen to drive away from the scene.

Witnesses said the van had a roof rack.

Nobody was injured during the incident. But police are now urging more witnesses to the collision to come forward.

PC Andrew Daw said: ‘Fortunately no-one was in the Ford Transit at the time but the collision caused significant damage and will have an impact on the owner’s work.

‘The van is possibly a Fiat and will have a great deal of damage to the driver’s side.

‘We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, who has seen the van since the collision or who knows the driver involved.’

Those with any information about the crash is being urged to call PC Daw on 101, quoting 44160177731. Alternatively, they can ring independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
