DETECTIVES are searching for witnesses after a teenage girl was assaulted.

The 17-year-old girl was walking along Conifer Grove in Gosport when she was approached by two men in a silver hatchback car on Thursday between 12.30pm and 1pm.

The front passenger, in his early 20s, got out of the car and assaulted her but she broke free uninjured and ran away to nearby Wych Lane.

Police say they are not linking this assault to other cases at this time.

The passenger was white, had dark hair, around 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build and was wearing a dark hoodie and red baseball cap.

The driver was also white and was wearing a white T-shirt.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Christopher Davies said: ‘Were you in the area of Conifer Grove?

‘Did you see anyone acting in a suspicious manner?

‘Do you know anyone with a silver hatch back car and fits the descriptions?’

If you have any information that may assist police in identifying these two men, contact DC Davies at Fareham CID on 101.
