A 15-YEAR-OLD girl was sexually assaulted in an an early morning attack in Portsmouth city centre.

The victim was approached in Commercial Road, Landport, Portsmouth, and assaulted by a man in his 30s a short while later.

The girl managed to break free and run away.

She was not hurt in the attack.

The attack happened between 9am and 9.30am on July 9 but police have only just released details.

The suspect is white, aged in his mid 30s, 6ft tall and of an average build.

He has dark eyes, dark, short hair and a goatee-style beard.

He wore a black leather jacket with breast pockets and dark trousers.
